09.01.2012 Argentina: Corrientes – Joaquin V. Gonzalez

Heute Morgen schliefen wir bis der Wecker um 10 Uhr ankündigte, dass es Zeit zum frühstücken ist. Da wir das Zimmer bis um 13 Uhr nutzen durften, ging Doris an den Pool und ich in unser Büro um meine Fotos zu bearbeiten und an meinem Blog zu schreiben.

This morning we slept until the alarm woke us up for breakfast. As we were able use our room until 1 pm Doris went to the pool and I sat down in our office to revise my photos and write for my blog.

Um 13 Uhr hatten wir die glorreiche Idee einen Stadtrundgang zu machen, aber als wir aus dem klimatisierten Hotel in die Hitze kamen, war uns beiden klar, dass dieser Spaziergang aufs Minimum reduziert werden würde… nach 5 Minuten hätten wir bereits an einer Miss Wet T-Shirt mitmachen können, sogar der heisse Wind trieb mehr Schweiss aus den Poren als er trocknen konnte! Eine Stunde später waren wir bereit für die Abfahrt und wurden auf dem Weg zur Brücke, die über den Paranà in die Chaco Region führt, von einer Polizeikontrolle angehalten. Seit wir unterwegs sind, wurden wir oft angehalten aber auch genauso oft durchgewinkt – ob die nach gestohlenen Autos fahnden? Nach der Brücke gelangten wir in die Chaco Region, welche die wildeste und heisseste in Argentinien ist, und so war es: Lauter Nichts auf 600 km und Rekordtemperaturen von 45 Grad Celsius! Der einzige Ort, wo man die Hitze aushalten konnte war im klimatisierten Auto!!! ; )

At 1 pm we had the glorious idea to go for a walk through town, but as soon as we left the air-conditioned hotel and felt the heat we realized that we would reduce our stroll to a minimum of time… already after 5 minutes we could have entered a Miss Wet T-Shirt competition, the hot wind made us break out even more in sweat than it was able to dry! An hour later we were ready for departure and on the way to the bridge, which leads over the Paraná into the region of Chaco, we were stopped by a police control. Since we are travelling through Argentina we were stopped several times and waved through as much as well by police controls – whether they are looking for stolen cars? After the bridge we reached the Chaco Region which is the wildest and hottest in Argentina, and that’s how it was: On 600 km there was just about nothing and we had record temperatures of 45 centigrade! The only place you could endure the heat was in a car with air-condition!!! ; )

José Luis, Gorge & Damian

Um 21 Uhr erreichten wir das Städtchen Joaquin V. Gonzalez in der Region Salta und fuhren auf Anhieb zum hübschen Hotel Ayres de Campo (www. hotelayresdecampo.com.ar). José Luis, der Receptionist empfahl uns das Restaurant Parrilla Oscar Roselló an der Plaza, wo ich ein relativ gutes (oder habe ich mich schon an den argentinischen Standard gewöhnt?) Stück Fleisch genoss. Zurück im Hotel wurden wir von Damian und Jorge aus Salta zu einem Drink eingeladen… es blieb nicht nur bei einem und José Luis stiess hinzu, der ebenfalls von Salta schwärmte! Die drei Jünglinge schrieben mir eine Liste, was man in Salta alles unternehmen kann, wir hatten interessante Gespräche über die politische und soziale Situation in Argentinien, hörten Musik und tanzten bis spät in die Nacht…

At 9 pm we arrived at the little town Joaquin V. Gonzalez in the region of Salta and drove directly to the pretty Hotel Ayres de Campo (www. hotelayresdecampo.com.ar). José Luis the receptionist recommended us the restaurant Parrilla Oscar Roselló at the plaza, where I enjoyed a relative nice piece of meat (or am I already used to the Argentinean standard?). Back at the hotel Damian and Jorge from Salta invited us for a drink… we didn’t stay with one and José Luis joined us who raved about Salta too! The three youngsters wrote me a list of what to do in Salta, we had interesting conversations about the political and social situation of Argentina, listed to music and danced until late at night…
