Heute Morgen wachte ich wieder erst mit dem Wecker auf… während dem Frühstück schrieb ich und lud meinen Post vom letzten Tag auf, machte mich danach bereit und fuhr um 12 Uhr los… Eine Stunde später war ich schon in Puerto Montt und parkierte in Angelmó, dem alten Fischerviertel, wo ich mich auf dem grossen Markt mit Produkten aus der Gegend und in einer innovativen Cafeteria verweilte.
This morning I woke up again with the alarm clock… whilst having breakfast I wrote my post of yesterday, thereafter made myself ready and drove off at noon… An hour later I was already in Puerto Montt and parked in Angelmó, an old fisher quarter, where I spent some time at the big market with lots of products of the region and in an artistic cafeteria.

Von Puerto Montt ging es nochmals eine Stunde entlang der Route 5 (oder Panamericana?) entlang und schon war ich in Pargua, wo die Fähre zur Insel Chiloé auf mich wartete. Pünktlich um 15 Uhr fuhren wir los und eine halbe Stunde später kamen wir in Chacoa an. Chiloé ist übrigens nach Feurland die zweitgrösste Insel des Kontinents, 210 km lang und 80 km breit, und wir oft mit Irland verglichen. Ich fuhr zuerst einmal Richtung Westen nach Pinguinera, das ich nach 15 km Schotterpiste (und zurück!) um 17:30 Uhr erreichte. Eduardo, der Touristen zu den Islotes de Puñihuil führt um die Pinguinkolonien (Magellan- und Humboldt- Pinguine) zu besuchen, offerierte mir um 18 Uhr mit den letzten Gästen mitzufahren… natürlich willigte ich ein und sah wieder einmal etwas ganz Neues!
From Puerto Montt I drove along ruta 5 (or Panamericana?) for another half an hour and arrived at Pargua, where the ferry to the Isle of Chiloé was awaiting me already. On time at 3 pm it took off and arrived half an hour later at Chacoa. By the way, Chiloé is after Tierra del Fuego the second largest island of the continent, 210 km long and 80 km broad, and often is compared with Ireland. First I drove direction west to Pinguinera, which I reached after 15 km dirt roads (and back!) at 5:30 pm. Eduardo, who guides tourists to the Islotes de Puñihuil by boat to see the penguin colonies (Magellan and Humboldt penguins) offered me to come with the last tour today at 6 pm… of course I agreed and once again learnt something new!

Auf dem Rückweg nach Ancud, wo ich vorhatte die Nacht zu verbringen, nahm ich José, einen Fischer mit, das machte den Rückweg einiges kürzer! Ich lud ihn an der Costanera ab und machte mich auf Hotelsuche… schon beim Reinfahren hatte ich bemerkt, dass es hier ein Panamericana Hotel hat, und weil ich nur gute Erfahrungen damit gemacht hatte, fuhr ich zum Panamericana Hosteria Ancud (http://www.panamericanahoteles.cl/ancud.html) und genoss hier einen super Abend bei einem Gourmet Abendessen (Filet gefüllt mit Jaibas) in einer ganz gemütlichen Atmosphäre – und Zimmer inklusive!

On the way back to Ancud, where I intended to spend the night, I took José, a fisherman, with me and it made the journey back much shorter! I dropped him off at the Costanera and went to look for a hotel for tonight… already when I arrived I had noticed that there was a Panamericana hotel, and because I only had made good experience with them I drove to the Panamericana Hosteria Ancud (http://www.panamericanahoteles.cl/ancud.html) and spent a wonderful night here with a gourmet dinner (tenderloin filled with jaibas) in a cozy atmosphere – and a room for tonight!
