Heute Morgen ging ich um 8:30 dem langen Strand entlang joggen, Manuel schaffte die Hälfte – immerhin! ; ) Um halb elf sassen wir beim Frühstück und gingen anschliessend Proviant für unterwegs einkaufen. Um 12 Uhr fuhren wir los Richtung La Serena.
This morning I went for a run along the long beach at around 8:30 am, Manuel made almost half of it – at least! ; ) At half past ten we sat at breakfast and afterwards went to buy some food and water for on the way. At noon we were ready to take off direction La Serena.

Die Panamericana wand sich durch das Gebirge und um 15 Uhr erreichten wir La Serena. Dort suchten wir zuerst einmal Europcar auf, um uns über meinen platten Reifen zu erkunden. Da die Niederlassung am Wochenende geschlossen war, fuhren wir zur nächsten Reifenreparaturstelle und liessen dort nach getaner Arbeit das originale Rad montieren – unterdessen erkundeten wir zu Fuss das Zentrum La Serenas.
The Panamericana wound itself through the mountains and at 3 pm we arrived at La Serena. There we went to look for Europcar first to inform ourselves about my flat tyre. The branch office there was closed and so we went to the next tyre repair shop and had the original wheel installed – in the meantime we went to discover the centre of La Serena on foot.

Danach fuhren wir der Küste und dem endlosen Strand entlang und setzten uns in ein Strandrestaurant. Das Wetter war bedeckt und eher kühl, so machten wir eine Rundfahrt durch die riesige Stadt – Manuel erklärte mir unterwegs kundig das Wichtigste. Um 18:30 Uhr trafen wir seinen Freund Juan, mit dem wir im Restaurante Tio Coco ein fantastisches Abendessen einnahmen. Danach setzte ich die beiden bei der Bushaltestelle ab und fuhr zum Hotel Serena Beach (http://www.serenabeach.cl), wo wir zuvor ein Zimmer für mich gefunden hatten und wo ich nun endlich Zeit finde meine Posts zu schreiben und zu veröffentlichen…

Thereafter we drove along the coast and the endless beach to relax in a beach restaurant. Unfortunately it was overcast and a bit chilly, so we went for a drive through the huge city – Manuel explained the main things competently. At 6:30 pm we met his friend Juan and together we went to have a fantastic dinner at the Restaurante Tio Coco. Thereafter I dropped them off at the bus station and drove to the Hotel Serena Beach (http://www.serenabeach.cl), where we previously had found a room for me and where I finally have time to update my blog…
