Heute Morgen genoss ich mein Cabaña: Ich schrieb im Bett mit herrlicher Aussicht auf die Bucht von Dichato für meinen Blog, kochte Wasser für Tee, nahm ein heisses Bad und frühstückte schliesslich im Wohnzimmer (und brauchte so endlich einmal meine Vorräte auf!). Da das WiFi nur auf meinem iPhone, aber nicht auf meinem Laptop funktionierte, fuhr ich am Mittag zum Restaurant Don Eduardo (wo ich gestern zu Abend gegessen hatte), setzte mich auf die Terrasse und installierte meinen PC um die vorbereiteten Posts ins Netz zu stellen.
This morning I enjoyed my cabaña: In bed with a fantastic view of the bay of Dichato I wrote for my blog, boiled water for tea, took a hot bath and finally had breakfast in the living room (using lots of my stocks on hand!). Because WiFi only worked on my iPhone but didn’t on my laptop I went to the Restaurant Don Eduardo (where I had dinner last night), sat on the terrace and installed my laptop to upload my prepared posts into the web.

Um 13 Uhr fuhr ich Richtung Süden und musste erst einmal durch Concepcion, die zweitgrösste Stadt Chiles, fahren und nahm zum ersten Mal die falsche Autobahn Richtung Norden statt Süden… ich merkte es aber bald und bog nach 8 km links in die Tankstelle um mich zu vergewissern. Dieser Stopp war ideal, da ich in die andere Richtung umkehren konnte und auch noch einen herrlichen starken Espresso fand! ; ) Nun war ich auf der richtigen Strasse und fuhr ohne Probleme durch die riesige Stadt der Küste entlang (nur 15 km Schotterpiste) und erreichte um 17:30 Uhr Lebu, ein Städtchen wie im wilden Westen… hier musste ich einfach schnell aussteigen und die Atmosphäre spüren!
At 1 pm I took the road direction south and first had to find the way through the second biggest city of Chile, Concepcion, and for the first time I took the wrong highway to the north instead to the south… it didn’t take long until I noticed and after 8 km I turned left into a service station to make sure. This stop was ideal as I could turn back south and additionally they had delicious strong espresso waiting for me! ; ) Now I was on the right track and drove through the huge city with no problems along the coast (only 15 km dirt roads) and arrived at 5:30 pm at Lebu, a little town like in the wild west… No way to drive through here - I had to get out of the car and feel the spirits!

Ich entschied mich aber die Gunst der langen Tage hier zu nutzen und noch ca. 120 km weiter nach Tirúa zu fahren. Unterwegs passierte ich Quidico, ein kleines Nest am Meer und hielt beim einzigen Hotel an. Das schien aber geschlossen zu sein, so fuhr ich die 10 km nach Tirúa, wo aber nichts, weder ein Hotel noch ein Restaurant war! Ich kehrte um nach Quidico und betrat um 20:30 Uhr das von weitem anlockende Restaurante Miramar, wo mich Monica, die Besitzerin, zum hübschen Cabaña Nelita (http://www.turismovirtual.cl/viii/quidico/nelita/index.htm) gleich nebenan führte. Yessenia brachte mir Holz und feuerte meinen Ofen an, so dass ich ein warmes Haus habe, wenn ich vom Essen zurückkehre. Ich genoss einen wunderschönen Frauen-Power Abend im Restaurante Miramar mit Monica und ihrer Freundin Maria Olga mit frischem Corvina und einer Flasche Sauvignon Blanc…

But I decided to take advantage of the long days here and drove another 120 km further to Tirúa. On the way I passed Quidico, a small village at the sea and stopped at the only hotel. It seemed to be closed so I drove 10 km further the Tirúa, where there was nothing, neither a hotel nor a restaurant! I went back to Quidico and entered the lovely Restaurante Miramar, where Monica the owner led me to the pretty Cabaña Nelita (http://www.turismovirtual.cl/viii/quidico/nelita/index.htm) just next door. Yessenia brought wood and fired my oven to be warm when I come back from dinner. I enjoyed a wonderful evening with the charming ladies Monica and Maria Olga having fresh Corvina and a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc…
