Das Essen gestern Abend kam doch noch, aber der Koch war wahrscheinlich noch nicht ganz wach, denn das Fleisch war sehr zäh… Meine Familie ging schon um 21 Uhr ins Bett und ich versuchte verzweifelt meine vorbereiteten Posts und Fotos aufzuladen und ein Hotel in Miraflores, Lima zu suchen aber die Internetverbindung brach immer wieder zusammen… gefrustet bat ich Franklin, den Besitzer um eine Zigarette und erzählte ihm mein Dilemma! Die lustige Gesellschaft lud mich zu einem Glas Wein ein und präsentierte die Lösung des Hotels auf einem Silbertablett: Franklin rief einen Freund in Lima an und organisierte uns ein Zimmer im 4-Sterne Hotel Colon zu einem unschlagbaren Preis…
Dinner last night arrived finally, but I guess the cook wasn’t really awake as the meat was very tough… My family went to bed at 9 pm and I tried desperately to upload my prepared posts and photos and find a hotel in Miraflores, Lima, but the internet access broke down again and again… frustrated I went over to Franklin, the owner, to ask him for a cigarette and to tell him my dilemma! The cheerful group invited me for a glass of wine and presented the solution to the problem on a silver tray: Franklin called a friend in Lima to reserve a room at the 4-star Hotel Colon for a sensational deal…

Um 8 Uhr rief die Aerodiana an um uns zu bestätigen, dass wir noch vor 11 Uhr die Nasca Linien überfliegen könnten! Wir machten uns auf zum Frühstück und fuhren um 9:30 Uhr zum gegenüber liegenden Flughafen. Und tatsächlich um 11 Uhr sassen wir in einer neuen Caravan und hoben ab – das war super cool über die Wüste zu fliegen und diese bis zu 300 m grosse Figuren aus der Luft zu sehen, 15 waren ganz deutlich zu sehen, aber es gab noch viele mehr! Fantastisch!
At 8 am we got a call from Aerodiana to confirm us a flight over the Nasca Lines before 11 am! We immediately went for breakfast and drove over to the airport just opposite of the hotel. And at 11 am we sat in a brand-new Caravan and took off – it was absolutely great flying over the desert and seeing the up to 300 m tall pictures from the air, 15 we could make out clearly but there were much more! Fantastic!

Bevor wir uns auf nach Lima machten, wollte ich sicher gehen und eine Bestätigung des Hotels von Franklin haben. Im Maison Suisse angekommen, musste die Receptionistin Franklin wecken… aber er kam und telefonierte nochmals. Wir erhielten die Adresse und machten uns auf den 5 Stündigen Weg entlang der Küste. Es war heiss und sonnig – das letzte Mal in Peru für uns, denn Lima liegt immer unter einer Dunstglocke, sagte man uns.
In der Stadt angekommen war schon bald nichts mehr angeschrieben und wir fragten uns durch nach Miraflores. Plötzlich erkannte ich eine Strasse, die auf meinem Stadtplan eingetragen war und wir fuhren direkt vor das Hotel Colon (http://www.miraflorescolonhotel.com/hotel.htm). Und wir waren tatsächlich registriert! Wir packten alle Koffer aus dem Mietauto, freuten uns am netten, grossen Zimmer und nahmen die langersehnte Dusche…
Hungrig erkundigten wir uns an der Reception nach guten Restaurant, die wir zu Fuss erreichen könnten. Wir waren nur 2 Blocks vom Malecon und dem Larco Mar entfernt, wo sich viele Restaurants und Geschäfte befinden. Wir hatten wieder die Qual der Wahl aber entschieden uns sicher für das beste Restaurant, das Portofino! In unserer ganzen Zeit hier in Südamerika haben wir nie besser gegessen (Nadine: Dort gehen wir ganz sicher zusammen auch hin!)! Zum Schluss fragen wir den Kellner, ob er uns einen guten Pisco (peruanischen Grappa) empfehlen könne, er kam mit 4 Flaschen und machte eine Degustation – aufs Haus!
Dass wir danach todmüde ins Bett gingen, muss ich wohl nicht mehr erwähnen… ; )

Before we hit the road to Lima I wanted to make sure that the reservation of the hotel was done and we drove back to the Maison Suisse. Franklin was still asleep and the receptionist had to wake him up. When he appeared a bit later he called his friend again and he gave us the directions of the Hotel Colon. Now we were ready to take the 5 hours drive to Lima along the coast. It was very hot and sunny – it would be the last time for us to see the sun in Peru, because Lima is always covered by a kind of fog, they told us.
Once arrived in the big city of Lima nothing was signed out and we had to ask our way through to Miraflores. Suddenly I recognized the name of a street which was indicated on my map and we drove directly in front of the Hotel Colon (http://www.miraflorescolonhotel.com/hotel.htm). The next surprise was that we were really registered! We took all our suitcases out of the car, were happy to have such a big and nice room and took our shower we were longing for all afternoon…
Hungrily we asked the receptionist for a recommendation of restaurants we could reach on foot. We were only 2 blocks away from the Malecon and Larco Mar with lots of restaurants and shops. It was difficult to make a decision where to have dinner but I think we choose the best restaurant, the Portofino! It was the best meal we had in South America! At the end we asked the waiter what Pisco (Peruan grappa) he would suggest us and he brought 4 different bottles, so we had a tasting - on the house!
I guess I don’t need to mention that we went to bed thereafter once more very, very tired… ; )
