Heute Morgen erwachte ich kurz vor 9 Uhr und ging erst einmal dem flachen Strand entlang joggen. Dort waren die Spuren des Vulkanausbruches von 2008 noch deutlich zu erkennen: Der dunkle Strand war mit grauer Asche gemischt und verbarg die Überreste vieler Bäume! Da die Don Baldo noch geankert war (sie fuhr um 10 Uhr nach Puerto Montt) ging ich auf dem Rückweg vorbei und trank mit Rodrigo und Carlos einen feinen starken Espresso! Es war bedeckt heute und ich fühlte mich ziemlich müde von der langen Nacht, so frühstückte ich in aller Ruhe, schrieb meinen Post und wühlte mich durch meine vielen e-mails. (Christina: War lustig mit dir live zu kommunizieren! Ich hoffe du hast diese Grippe bald überstanden!?)

This morning I woke up at 9 and first went for a run along the flat beach. The impact of the 2008 eruption of the volcano was clearly recognizable: the dark sand was mixed with grey ashes hiding remains of lots of trees! Because the Don Baldo still was anchored (it took off at 10 am to Puerto Montt) I visited Rodrigo and Carlos on the way back and had a good strong espresso! (Rodrigo: thanks for the nice coffee!) it was overcast and I felt quite tired from the long night so I had breakfast in no haste, wrote my post of yesterday and went through my e-mails.

Bis ich bereit war weiterzureisen war es schon 15:30 Uhr und da der nächste Ort mindestens 3 Stunden entfernt auf Schotterpisten liegt, entschloss ich mich noch einen Nacht zu bleiben, morgen etwas früher wegzufahren und heute die Jungs auf der Baustelle des neuen Flughafens etwas weiter nördlich zu besuchen...

Um 18 Uhr war ich zurück im Hospedaje Don Carlos und machte erst einmal ein Nickerchen. Darauf machte ich mich zu Fuss auf den Weg ein Restaurant zu finden, was eher schwierig war in diesem es scheint verlassenen Ort. Aber das Restaurante Maria Estrella bereitete mir eine ausgezeichnete frische Merluza mit Kartoffelstock und Salat zu! Und nach eine Glas Chardonnay, das hier 3 dl enthält, steht nun  eine frühe Nacht bevor...

Until I was ready for departure it was 3:30 pm and because it would take at least 3 hours on dirt roads until the next village I decided to stay another night, start a bit earlier tomorrow and visit the boys working on the new airport further north...

At 6 pm I was back at the Hospedaje Don Carlos and first took a snooze. Thereafter I walked through the village searching for a restaurant which was rather difficult in this deserted place as it seemed. But I was served a delicious merluza with mashed potatoes and a salad in the Restaurante Maria Estrella! After a glass of Chardonnay, which contains here 3 dl, I will surely call it an early night tonight...
