10.12.2011 Chile: Punta Arenas – Puerto Natales

Heute Morgen erwachte ich um 9 Uhr und entschied die Gunst der Stunde zu nutzen und der Küste entlang zu joggen. Auf dem Rückweg machte ich Halt in einem Café (wie immer für einen doppelten Espresso) und als ich eine Stunde später im Hostal ankam, war Sabine schon beim Frühstück. Ich gesellte mich zu ihr, wir packten zwischendurch und schrieben an unseren Blogs.

This morning I woke up at 9 am and decided to improve the shining hour and go for a run along the coast. On the way back I stopped at a café (to have a double espresso as always) and when I came back to the hostel Sabine already sat at breakfast. I joined her, in between we packed our belongings and wrote for our blogs.

Kurz vor 14 Uhr begleitete ich sie zum Check-in der Cruceros Australis, denn sie wird heute schon die Kreuzfahrt nach Ushuaia antreten… wir verabschiedeten uns, ich lief zum Hostal zurück wo mich pünktlich um 14:30 Uhr der Bus Fernández für die 3-stündige Fahrt nach Puerto Natales abholte. Um 17:30 Uhr kamen wir dort an und der Bus setzt mich vor dem Hotel Capitán Eberhard (www.busesfernandez.com/hotel.html) ab!

Just before 2 pm I accompanied Sabine to the check-in of the Cruceros Australis since she is starting on her cruise today… we said goodbye and I walked back to the hostel where the Bus Fernández picked me up at 2:30 pm for my 3-hours journey to Puerto Natales. We arrived there at 5:30 pm and the bus dropped me off in front of the Hotel Capitán Eberhard (www.busesfernandez.com/hotel.html)!

Kurz nachdem ich mich in meinem Zimmer  eingerichtete hatte machte ich mich auf das Städtchen zu erkunden: Ich lieferte meine Wäsche ab, buchte meine Exkursionen (eine Schifffahrt zu den Gletschern und eine Tagestour in den Parque Nacional Torres del Paine) und wem begegnete ich unterwegs? - Thijs (den ich in Sucre, Bolivien, in der Sprachschule kennengelernt habe!), gerade zurück aus einem Trekking... er erzählte mir, dass er mit 6 andern Leuten im Restaurante al Picada de Carlitos abgemacht hätte zu Abend zu essen, ob ich auch mitkomme? - Natürlich war ich dabei! Und es wurde wieder einmal spät, was ich morgen sicher bereuen werde...

Shortly after I had made myself at home in my room I headed for a walk through the little town: I delivered my laundry, booked excursions (a boat trip to the glaciers and a full day at the Torres del Paine National Park) and guess who I met on the way? – Thijs (whom I got to know at school in Sucre, Bolivia!), just back from a trekking… he told me that he was going to have dinner at the Restaurante al Picada de Carlitos with 6 more people, if I would like to join them? – Of course I was game! And it became another late night, which I surely will regret tomorrow…
