Auch heute Morgen ging der Wecker um 6 Uhr, aber ich stand wesentlich besser auf als gestern, obwohl ich erst um 1:30 Uhr ins Bett ging! Um auf Nummer sicher zu gehen, ging ich nebenan ins Hotel um mir einen doppelten Espresso zu genehmigen bevor ich um 7:30 Uhr an den Frühstückstisch sass. Eine halbe Stunde später wurde ich von Luis, dem Chauffeur, sowie weiteren 6 Touristen abgeholt und los ging es auf eine Tour durch den Nationalpark Torres del Paine. Es war ein wunderschöner Tag mit schönem Wetter und wir hatten stets das Massiv des Torres del Paine vor Augen…
This was another morning the alarm clock woke me up at 6 am, but it didn’t hurt as much as yesterday morning even though I went to bed at 1:30 am last night! I went for a double espresso next door before I went for breakfast at 7:30 am, just to be on the safe side. Half an hour later Luis, the driver, and 6 more tourists, picked me up and off we went on a tour through the National Park Torres del Paine. It was a lovely day with beautiful weather and always the massif of Torres del Paine in front of us…

Der erste Stopp war in der Cueva del Milodón, einer riesigen Höhle, wo Menschen vor 12‘000 Jahren lebten und wo man ein Skelett eines Riesenfaultiers gefunden hat. Danach traten wir offiziell in den Nationalpark ein und machten einen weiteren Halt am Lago Grey, wo wir Richtung Gletscher wanderten. Und hier begann plötzlich meine Fotokamera an zu klemmen… ich brachte kein Foto mehr hin mit dem Autofokus und musste auf manuell wechseln wobei die meisten Fotos unscharf wurden!
Our first stop was at the Cueva del Milodón, a huge cave where humans lived about 12’000 years ago and where a skeleton of a giant ground sloth was found. Thereafter we entered officially the National Park and stopped at the Lago Grey, where we walked direction glacier. And there suddenly my camera started to stuck… the autofocus didn’t work anymore and I had to switch to manual but all my pictures didn’t come out sharp!

Am Lago Pehoé machten wir einen Mittagsrast und fuhren dann weiter zum Wasserfall Salto Grande, wo wir viele Nandus (Strausse) und Guanacos (dickere Vikunjas) sahen. Die Cascada del Rio Peine, ein weiterer Wasserfall, stand als nächstes auf dem Programm bevor wir uns auf den Rückweg nach Puerto Natales machten.
Kurz nach 17 Uhr kam ich im Hotel Capitan Eberhard an und machte mich gleich auf der Küste entlang zu joggen, da ich den ganzen Tag mehr oder weniger im Auto gesessen war… Danach versuchte ich vergebens einen Laden zu finden, wo sie meine Kamera unter die Lupe nehmen könnten (nur in Punta Arenas möglich, deshalb nehme ich morgen eine Bus früher!), und entschloss mich schliesslich im Restaurante Ultima Esperanza kulinarisch verwöhnen zu lassen: Jakobsmuscheln mit Knoblauch und Seespinne und eine Flasche Sauvignon Blanc taten ihr Bestes!
Zurück im Hotel schrieb ich meinen aktuellen Post und wollte ihn ins Netz stellen, aber das WiFi funktionerte nicht... da ich ebenfalls noch mein Busticket ändern musste, lief ich kurz vor 22:30 Uhr nochmals mit meinem Laptop in die Stadt. Mit einem neuen Ticket für 10 Uhr morgen in der Hand machte ich mich auf die Suche nach einem Internetcafé und begegnete unterwegs Oscar, der im Restaurante Ultima Esperanza am Tisch nebenan sass... wir gingen zusammen ins Restaurante al Picada de Carlitos, wo ich Donnerstag mit Thijs und seinen Freunden zu Abend gegessen hatte und wo scheinbar auch Oscar an diesem Abend war... es gibt ja schon Zufälle!?

At the Lago Pehoé we had a lunch break and drove to the waterfalls Salto Grande thereafter and saw lots of nandus (ostriches) and guanacos (fat vicunas). The Cascada del Rio Peine, another waterfall, was the last stop before we drove back to Puerto Natales.
Just after 5 pm I was back at the Hotel Capitan Eberhard and went for a run along the coast right after my arrival to feel free after a day sitting in a car… Thereafter I was looking in vain for a shop where they sell cameras and would cast an eye at mine (the next service station is in Punta Arenas that's why I will take the earlier bus tomorrow morning), so I decided to have me treated with scallops in garlic as well as a spider crab and a bottle of sauvignon blanc at the Restaurante Ultima Esperanza!
Back at the hotel I wrote my recent post and wanted to put it on-line, but WiFi didn't work at the moment... as I needed a new bus ticket for tomorrow as well I walked back into town around 22:30 pm to have it changed. With a new ticket in my hands I was looking for a internet café and met Oscar on the way who was sitting at the table next to me at dinner in the Restaurante Ultima Esperanza... together we went to the Restaurante al Picada de Carlitos where I had dinner Thursday night with Thijs and his friends and Oscar told me that he was there at that time as well... there are unbelievable conicidences!?
