28.12.2011 Chile: Santiago de Chile – Argentina: Buenos Aires

Heute Morgen war ich schon früh wach und schrieb zuerst einmal meinen Post von gestern, lud ihn ins Netz und machte alle Koffer reisebereit. Um 9 Uhr ging ich zum Frühstück und war gespannt ob German, der mir gestern noch angerufen hatte, auftauchen würde… German hatte ich vor 3 Wochen in Puerto Rio Tranquillo kennengelernt, den südlichsten Ort in Chile, den ich mit dem Auto erreicht hatte. Er ist aus Santiago de Chile, aber erst gestern aus Pucon (Weihnachtsfeier) zurückgekommen und bot mir an mich zum Flughafen zu fahren, so dass wir wenigsten etwas Zeit miteinander verbringen konnten! Und tatsächlich kurz vor 10 holte mich German ab, wir luden meine Koffer ein und los ging es Richtung Flughafen!

This morning I woke up quite early, wrote my post of yesterday, uploaded it into the net and made my suitcases ready for departure. At 9 am I sat at breakfast and wondered if German, who had called me yesterday, would show up… I got to know German about 3 weeks ago in Puerto Rio Tranquillo, the most southern point I had reached by car in Chile. He is from Santiago de Chile but only had returned yesterday from Pucon (Christmas celebrations) and offered me to take me to the airport today in order to spend at least this time together! And in fact shortly before 10 am he picked me up, we loaded my suitcases into his car and off we went direction airport!

Da ich meine Boarding Karte schon ausgedruckt hatte, ging das Einchecken sehr schnell (und wieder kümmerte sich niemand darum, dass ich 40 kg Gepäck dabei hatte!). Wir setzten uns in ein Restaurant und genossen den letzten Pisco Sour bevor ich durch den Zoll zum Gate ging.

I had already my printed out boarding pass at hand so the check-in procedure went very fast (and once again nobody cared about my luggage of 40 kg!). We had a last pisco sour in one of the airport restaurants before I went through customs to the gate.

Der Flug startete pünktlich um 13 Uhr und am Fenster sitzend konnte ich eine wunderschöne Aussicht auf die Anden geniessen. Zwei Stunden später landeten wir in Buenos Aires, ich nahm ein Taxi und fuhr zum Hotel NH City & Tower (http://www.buenosairesnhcitytower.com), das ich um 16 Uhr erreichte und wo Doris mit Sonnenbrand auf mich wartete (sie war heute Morgen um 8:35 Uhr aus der Schweiz angekommen).

The flight took off on-time at 1 pm and sitting at the window I was able to enjoy a wonderful view of the Andes. Two hours later we landed in Buenos Aires, I took a cap to the Hotel NH City & Tower (http://www.buenosairesnhcitytower.com), where I arrived at 4 pm and where a sunburned Doris awaited me (she had arrived this morning at 8:35 am from Switzerland).

Nachdem wir das Wichtigste ausgetauscht hatten, schlenderten wir zu Fuss durch San Telmo und setzten uns schliesslich für einen Apero mit späterem Abendessen draussen im Plaza Dorrego ins Restaurante Los Hermanos del Aljibe. Ausser dass wir uns vor den Strassen voller Müll ekelten sind wir glücklicherweise heil im Hotel angekommen! ; )

After having exchanged our most important news we strolled through San Telmo and finally sat down outside in the Plaza Dorrego and had an appetizer and later dinner at the Restaurante Los Hermanos del Aljibe. Except of that we found all the trash lying in the streets disgusting, we fortunately arrived at the hotel safe and sound! ; )

nach dem Frisör / with a new haircut

Heute Morgen ging ich nach dem Frühstück joggen und auf dem Rückweg liess ich mich in der Pelugeria Mandarin haarisch verwöhnen. Als ich aus dem Salon kam, war es schon extrem heiss, ich holte meine Wäsche ab und verbrachte den Nachmittag in meinem Hotelzimmer. Ich packte alle Koffer aus, reparierte meine lädierten grossen Rollkoffer (Hansruedi: Dein Klebeband hat mit bisher grosse Dienste erwiesen!) und ordnete all meine Utensilien. Alles ist jetzt für meine Abreise nach Buenos Aires morgen bereit…

Als die Hitze am späten Nachmittag etwas nachliess, lief ich zur Calle Isidora Goyenechea um im Restaurante Pepino’s einen letzten Pisco Sour mit Camerones Ajillos zu geniessen. Da es herrlich war draussen zu sitzen und mich ein kleines Hüngerchen plagte bestellte ich dort auch ein Filet (300 g – das sind hier die Portionen!) mit Rahmspinat – mmmhhhhh!

Heute wurde es kein später Abend, denn auf dem Rückweg zum Hotel gönnte ich mir noch ein Eis und fiel danach todmüde in mein Bett!

This morning after breakfast I went for a run and on the way back I had a hairy treatment at the Pelugeria Mandarin. When I left the salon it was already extremely hot, I picked up my laundry and spent the afternoon in my hotel room. I unpacked my suitcases, repaired my big trolley bag and rearranged all my stuff. Everything is now packed and ready for my departure to Buenos Aires tomorrow…

When it had cooled off a bit in the late afternoon I walked to Calle Isidora Goyenechea to enjoy my last Pisco Sour with camarones ajillos at the Restaurante Pepino’s. It was wonderful to sit outside and a small hunger beset me so I ordered a tenderloin (300 g – that are the portions here!) with cream spinach – mmmhhhhh!

Today I called it an early night; on the way back I had an ice-cram and fell into my bed deathly tired thereafter!

26.12.2011 Chile: Catemu – Santiago de Chile

Endlich habe ich wieder einmal etwas Spannendes zu erzählen! ; ) Aber nur ein einziges Foto, sorry!

Der Tag begann um 8 Uhr für mich – ziemlich früh, zugegeben, aber ich war ja auch schon um 22 Uhr im Bett gestern Abend! Ich packte meine Koffer, machte mir einen Kräutertee und mich bereit für die Abreise, die wir gemäss Cristian ab 10 Uhr antreten würden… Um 9:30 Uhr erwachte auch Cristian und hatte wie immer noch sehr viel zu tun. Ich bot ihm meine Hilfe an, aber da ich nichts helfen konnte, las ich meine Morgenlektüre und schrieb den Post von gestern bis wir um 12 Uhr die Reise zurück nach Santiago schliesslich unter die Räder nahmen…

Um 14 Uhr erreichten wir Cristians Restaurant La Terraza Isidora in Las Condes. Nach einem starken Espresso bei Yvonne (sie hat einen Teil von Cristians Liegenschaft gemietet und führt dort ein Café) brachte ich erst einmal meine Wäsche in die Wäscherei. Danach setzte ich mich an meinen Laptop, lud die Posts der vergangenen Tage hoch und beantwortete meine e-mails. Als es bereits 17:30 Uhr war ging ich ausgiebig joggen (was für mich auch freilaufen heisst oder mit anderen Worten mit einen klaren Kopf offen für neue Inputs sein) und klapperte unterwegs einige Hotels ab, die entweder ausgebucht oder zu teuer waren… kommt Zeit, kommt Rat!

Und so war es: Unterdessen hatte mir Alejandro (aus Las Condes, den ich in Antofagasta kennen gelernt hatte) zurückgeschrieben, er freute sich, dass ich zurück in Santiago war und fragte wo ich sei. Ich war inzwischen in einem Internet Café nicht weit vom La Terraza Isidora entfernt… er holte mich ab und wir gingen etwas essen. Als ich ihm erzählte, dass ich mich nicht sehr wohl bei Cristian fühlte da er seine Persönlichkeit nach hohem Alkoholkonsum abrupt ändern konnte, fuhr er mich zum Hotel Leonardo da Vinci (www.hotelleonardodavinci.cl), wo ich während meines ersten Aufenthaltes in Santiago de Chile schon logiert hatte, und ich hatte Glück, dass sie ein Zimmer für 2 Nächte frei hatten!

The day began at 8 am for me – rather early, I have to admit, but I was in bed already at 10 pm last night! I packed my suitcases, made myself an herbal tea and got ready for departure which would be from 10 am according to Cristian… At 9:30 he finally woke up and had a lot to do as always. I offered him my help but as I couldn’t give him a hand in anything I read my morning lecture and wrote my post of yesterday until we hit eventually the road back to Santiago at noon…

At 2 pm we arrived at Cristian’s restaurant La Terraza Isidora in Las Condes. After a strong espresso at Yvonne’s (she rents a part of Cristian’s property and keeps a café there) I delivered my laundry close by. Thereafter I sat on my laptop, uploaded the posts of the last days and answered my e-mails. When it was already 5:30 pm I went for a long run (which means for me also to run free or in other words be open for new inputs with a clear head) and checked several hotels on the way back which either were fully booked or ridiculously expensive… we’ll cross that bridge when we come to it!

And so it happened: In the meantime Alejandro (from Las Condes who I got to know in Antofagasta) had answered my e-mail, he was happy to hear that I was back in Santiago and asked where I was. When I checked my e-mails I sat in an internet café not far away from La Terraza Isidora… he picked me up and we went for dinner. When I told him that I didn’t feel very comfortable with Cristian as he changes his personality abruptly after excessive consumption of alcohol, he drove me to the Hotel Leonardo da Vinci (www.hotelleonardodavinci.cl) where I already stayed on my first visit of Santiago de Chile, and I was lucky that they had a room for 2 nights for me!

We drove to Cristian’s apartment, which lays opposite of his restaurant, and I went to get my already packed suitcases. I hadn’t unpacked them because I implied already while driving back that I will look for a hotel for the remaining 2 nights… I was lucky again: Cristian jun. sat outside on the steps with friends and so they helped me to transport my luggage into Alejandro’s car! I said goodbye to Cristian and returned his key, luckily he was busy with guests consequently I was able to leave without any further explications. Most had been voiced anyway!

Mein Gott, ich fühle mich wieder frei und unkontrolliert! Cristian ist so ein feiner Mensch und vielleicht wollte ich einfach nicht glauben, dass da noch eine andere Seite ist… vielleicht hatte ich auch viel Glück mit all den andern Begegnungen? Weshalb liess mich meine Intuition diesmal im Stich? Sehr wahrscheinlich musste ich noch etwas lernen? – Das habe ich! Nun kenne ich eine Facette mehr des Lebens…

My god, I feel free again and uncontrolled! Cristian is such a genteel person and maybe I just didn’t want to believe that he had another side… maybe I just was lucky with all the other encounters? Why had I been abandoned by my intuition? Probably I had to learn something? – I did! Now I know one more facet of life…

25.12.2011 Chile: Catemu

Heute habe ich nicht viel zu erzählen, es war ein ruhiger und sehr heisser Tag und ich konnte viel ausruhen. So habe ich mich heute etwas in den Garten gelegt um meine Blässe aufzupolieren und wieder einmal gelesen – dafür hatte ich sehr wenig Zeit, ausser morgens meine kurzen Lektüren um meinen Geist zu öffnen. So habe ich während meiner Reise durch Südamerika Kant fertiggelesen, Erich Fromms ‘Haben oder Sein‘ und seit ich in Chile bin lese ich Schopenhauer…

There is not a lot to tell about today, it was a quiet and very hot day and I got the chance to rest a lot. So I sat in the garden to suntan a bit and read – I hadn’t had time to read while travelling except for my short lectures in the morning to open up my mind. So while being in South America I finished Kant, read Erich Fromms ‘To Have Or Be’ and since I’m back in Chile I’m reading Schopenhauer…

Hier im Garten hat es sehr viele Obstbäume, so pflückten wir Orangen und Aprikosen zum Frühstück. Wie gesagt, es war so heiss, dass ich erst um 17 Uhr wieder zum Haus ausging um im Dorf ein Cybercafé zu suchen. Da es Weihnachten war, war fast alles geschlossen aber ich fand wenigstens eine Internetstube, wo ich meine e-mails abrufen und beantworten konnte. Meine Posts werde ich hochladen, wenn ich zurück in Santiago de Chile bin.

Cristian bereitete ein weiteres fantastisches Abendessen zu und wieder müde vom Nichtstun ging ich auch heute schon früh in mein Zimmer und schlief wie ein Engel – auch das ist eine Wohltat!

There are lots of fruit trees in the garden here, so we collected oranges and apricots for breakfast. As mentioned before, it was so hot, that I left the house only around 5 pm to go to the village looking for a cyber café. Because it was Christmas almost everything was closed, but I found an internet place where I at least could check and answer my e-mails. I will upload my posts when I’m back in Santiago de Chile.

Cristian prepared another fantastic dinner and again I was tired from doing nothing so I went to my room early also today and slept like an angel – what a treat!

24.12.2011 Chile: Huaquén - Catemu

Heute Morgen noch vor dem Frühstück ging ich um 10 Uhr in der trockenen Gegend joggen (bevor es zu heiss wurde) und begegnete einem jungen Fuchs. Als ich zurück war, begannen wir zusammenzupacken und machten uns um 14 Uhr auf Richtung Süden nach Catemu, wo Cristian ebenfalls ein Haus besitzt.

This morning before breakfast at 10 am I went for a run in the dry region (before it was getting too hot) and met a young fox. When I came back we started to pack and get ready for our departure at 2 pm direction south to Catemu, where Cristian owns another property.

Unterwegs kauften wir in La Ligua für das Abendessen ein und erreichten um 16:30 Uhr Catemu. Wir räumten alles ein und ich genoss eine ausgiebige Dusche - das war genau, das was ich brauchte nach so einem heissen Tag! Darauf setzte ich mich an den Schatten und schrieb den Post der letzten Tage und Cristian bereitete ein fantastisches Rindfilet zu, das wir bei einer Flasche Carmenere und guten Gesprächen genossen…

Das waren meine Weihnachten 2011 - weg von allem und ohne nur die Spur, die einem daran erinnerte! Ich hoffe ihr alle hattet ebenfalls ein friedliches Fest mit euren Lieben!

On the way in La Ligua we bought food for dinner and arrived at Catemu at 4:30 pm. We moved our stuff from the car into the house and I enjoyed a nice shower – that was exactly what I needed after such a hot day! Thereafter I sat in the shadow and wrote my post of the last days and Cristian prepared a delicious tenderloin, which we had with a bottle of Carmenere and good conversations…

That was my Christmas 2011- away from everything and without anything reminding me of it! I hope you all also had a peaceful feast with your beloved!

Donnerstag Morgen als wir um 10 Uhr beim Frühstück sassen kam Bruno, ein Nachbar, für einen Schwatz vorbei. Als ich ihn fragte, was er denn jagen gehe (er hatte eine Flinte umgehängt), antwortete er mir nichts, dies sei zu seinem eigenen Schutz wenn er hier in der Gegend herumlauft… man weiss ja nie… ???

Thursday morning when we sat at breakfast around 10 am Bruno, a neighbor, came for a chat. When I asked him what he was going to hunt (he had a rifle on his back) he answered nothing, this is only for his own security walking around here… you never know… ???

Cristian & Giorgio, Restaurante Pirata Suizo, Las Molles

Am Nachmittag fuhren wir nach Pichicuy, wo Cristian einiges zu erledigen hatte und ich mich eine Stunde an den Strand legte – herrlich! Danach fuhren wir noch etwas mehr nördlich entlang der Küste nach Los Molles ins Restaurante Pirata Suizo. Giorgio, ein ursprünglicher Tessiner der schon 25 Jahre hier lebt, begrüsste uns freudig und nachdem ich herausgefunden hatte, dass ich bei ihm eine Dusche nehmen kann, machte ich mich auf den langen Strand abzujoggen… tat das gut! Als ich zurück zum Restaurant kam, waren die Herren schon beim Apero und ich konnte mich in aller Ruhe bereit für Cristians Geburtstagsessen machen. Wir haben ein super 4-Gang Menu genossen und uns danach ins Kaminzimmer gesetzt, wo ich etwas im Internet arbeiten konnte. Da Cristian ziemlich müde war, fuhr ich die 20 km zurück nach Huaquén!

In the afternoon we drove to Pichicuy where Cristian had to sort out some things and I had time to suntan at the beach for an hour – wonderful! Thereafter we drove further north along the coast to Las Molles to the Restaurante Pirata Suizo. Giorgio,  is originally from the Ticino (Switzerland) and lives here already for 25 years. He welcomed us warmly and after I had found out that I could take a shower at this place I went for a nice run along the beach… what a treat! When I came back to the restaurant the gentlemen were already having an appetizer and I had time to get myself made up for Cristian’s birthday. We had a fantastic 4-course menu and sat thereafter at the fire place where I could do some work in the internet. Cristian felt very tired so I drove the around 20 km back to Hauquén!

Da es ziemlich spät wurde letzte Nacht schlief ich am Freitag Morgen sehr lange. Wir frühstückten so um den Mittag und da Cristian dies und jenes um, im und am Haus zu tun hatte, legte ich mich etwas an den See und ordnete meinen Papierkram.

Am Nachmittag fuhren wir nochmals nach Las Molles, da ich meinen Föhn bei Giorgio hatte liegen lassen! Nach einem kurzen Schwatz und einem Espresso machten wir uns auf die Rückfahrt nach Huaquén und kauften unterwegs frischen Fisch und Machas (Muscheln) fürs Abendessen ein. Bei einer Flasche Champagner bereitete Cristian den Fisch zu und ich das Gemüse, den Salat und ein Dessert. Ein wirkliches Festessen, das wir vom Grill zauberten!

Diesen Abend schlüpfte ich schon früh in mein Bett, denn ich war sehr müde vom Nichtstun ; )

Because it became quite late last night I slept very long Friday morning. We had breakfast around noon and while Cristian had lots to do around, in and at the house I found a nice place at the lake and ordered my papers.

In the afternoon we drove to Las Molles again because I had left my hairdryer at Giorgio’s! After a short chat and an espresso we drove back to Huaquén and bought some fresh fish and machas (mussels) for dinner on the way. Having a bottle of champagne Cristian prepared the fish and I the vegetables, salad and a desert. What a feast meal we had – all from the barbeque!

That evening I crawled early into my bed, I was very tired from doing nothing ; )

21.12.2011 Chile: Santiago de Chile - Huaquén

Um 8 Uhr wurde ich von einem verärgerten Cristian geweckt… keine Ahnung was los war, aber ich stand auf und packte meine Koffer… Als ich ihn fragte, was denn los sei, beklagte er, dass ich gestern Abend den ganzen Abend bei Claudio am Tisch verbracht hätte! Oh mein Gott, einen eifersüchtigen Mann ist genau das was ich jetzt noch brauchte! Ich hab ihm doch ganz klar und deutlich gesagt, dass ich nicht in ihn verliebt bin!

Als wir uns ausgesprochen hatten und unsere Pläne für die kommenden Tage geschmiedeten waren, setzte ich mich in Yvonnes Corner Café für … (ja Monika: wieder einen doppelten Espresseo!) und lief danach etwas durch Las Condes um einen klaren Kopf zu bekommen... Um 13:30 Uhr trafen wir uns im Restaurante Terraza Isidora zum Mittagessen und bis wir Richtung Norden zu Cristians Farm abfuhren wurde es 16 Uhr…  Unterwegs machten wir Halt in Catemu bei Gloria, Cristians Ex-Frau, und einen weiteren in La Ligua um Lebensmittel einzukaufen.

At 8 am a very upset Cristian woke me up… I had no idea what was going on but decided to pack my suitcases… When I asked him what was wrong he lamented that I spent the whole evening yesterday at the table of Claudio! Help me god, a jealous man is all what I needed now! And I have told him before in no uncertain manner that I was not in love with him!

When we had talked our problem over and also made plans for the following days I went over to Yvonnes Corner Café for a double espresso and thereafter walked through Las Condes to get a clear head… At 1:30 pm we met at the Restaurante Terraza Isidora for lunch and it got 4 pm when we finally hit the road direction north to Cristan’s farm… on the way we stopped at Gloria’s house (Cristian’s ex-wife) and in La Ligua to buy the essentials for the next days.

Um 20:30 Uhr bei Dämmerung erreichten wir endlich Cristians Farm in Huaquén: Viel Arbeit und ein super Abendessen erwartete uns… das heisst: Ich musste es mir natürlich so einrichten, dass ich mich zu Hause fühlen konnte, und Cristian bereite unterdessen frische Reineta (Fisch) mit Zucchini, Kartoffelschnitzen und Zwiebeln an einer Weissweinsauce in Alu vom dem Grill zu…

At dawn around 8:30 pm we finally reached Cristian’s farm in Huanquén: Lots of work and a delicious dinner was laying before… which means: I of course had to rearrange until I felt home and Cristian prepared dinner in the meantime with fresh reineta (fish) with zucchini, potatoes and onions in a white wine sauce in a foil from the barbeque…

19.+20.12.2011 Argentina: Ushuaia – Chile: Santiago de Chile

Wie bereits erwähnt, fühlte ich mich seit der Ankunft in Argentinien gestoppt… weshalb, kann ich nicht genau sagen, ich denke es sind viele Faktoren, die hier zusammen gekommen sind: Schlechtes und regnerisches Wetter, zu viel Touristen, eher kalte und arrogante Argentinier und mir fehlte vor allem Chile mit seinen absolut liebenswerten Leuten! Zudem hatte ich auf der MV Via Australis 3 allerliebste Pärchen kennengelernt, die in mir die Sehnsucht weckten die Feiertage nicht alleine zu verbringen…

Um 9 Uhr lief ich zum Reisebüro Rumbo Sur, wo Guadelupes Arbeitskollege bereits einen Flug heute Abend von Ushuaia via Buenos Aires nach Santiago de Chile und am 28. Dezember zurück nach Buenos Aires (dort werde ich Doris treffen um einen Monat mit ihr durch Argentinien zu reisen) reserviert hatte, um diesen definitiv zu kaufen.

Erleichtert lief ich ins Hotel zurück und da es gerade nicht regnete ging ich der Küste entlang joggen. Danach frühstückte ich und machte mich und meine Koffer bereit. Nun war noch ein ganzer Tag todzuschlagen – dieses Gefühl hatte ich auf meiner ganzen Reise noch nie! Ich setzte mich an meine Laptop, lief etwas durch das Städtchen ging mich von Guadelupe verabschieden und endete schliesslich im Restaurante Tante Sara mit einem Glas Malbec und Zeit zum Lesen – auch dafür hatte ich bisher noch keine Zeit!

Da mein Flug kurz vor 21 Uhr starten würde nahm ich um 18 Uhr ein Taxi zum Flughafen. Dort konnte ich zwar schon einchecken aber fand auch heraus, dass mein Flug eine Stunde Verspätung hatte… Auch hier kümmerte sich übrigens niemand um mein Übergepäck, das bis nach Santiago de Chile durchgecheckt wurde! Ich legte mich in einer ruhigen Ecke auf dem mit Teppich überspannten Boden und schlief für eine Stunde…

As already mentioned, I didn’t feel at ease since I arrived in Argentina… why, I cannot tell exactly, I think there are lots of different factors which cumulated: bad and rainy weather, too many tourists, rather cold and arrogant Argentines and most of all I missed Chile and its absolutely adorable people! What’s more, on the MV Via Australis I sat at the table with 3 lovely couples who somehow awoke the desire to spend the holiday season not on my own…

At 9 am I walked to the travel agency Rumbo Sur to buy my flight which Guadelupe’s colleague already had reserved for me for tonight from Ushuaia via Buenos Aires to Santiago de Chile and back to Buenos Aires on the 28^th of December (where I will meet Doris to travel through Argentina for a month).

Relieved I walked back to the hotel and because it didn’t rain at the moment I went for a run along the coast. Thereafter I had breakfast and made myself as well as my suitcases ready. Now there was a whole day to strike dead – I haven’t had that feeling before while travelling here! I worked on my laptop, strolled through the little town, said goodbye to Goadelupe and ended up in the Restaurante Tante Sara to have a glass of Malbec and read – also therefore I hadn’t found time yet!

Due to my flight leaving just before 9 pm I took a taxi to the airport around 6 pm. I could check in already but also found out that my flight was delayed for another hour… By the way, also here nobody cared about my excess baggage which was checked through to Santiago de Chile! I made myself comfortable on the floor covered with carpets in a quiet corner and slept for an hour…

Ushuaia - Buenos Aires



Um 22 Uhr starteten wir und ich hatte glücklicherweise eine ganze Sitzreihe für mich, so konnte ich nochmals 2 Stunden schlafen! Um 1:30 Uhr kamen wir in Buenos Aires an und ich ging zuerst in ein Internetcafe, da ich bemerkt hatte, dass ich Cristian, der mich am Flughafen abholen wollte, einen falschen Ankunftstag angegeben hatte: Den 21. statt den 20. Dezember! Er hatte es aber bereits selber bemerkt und mir schon eine Nachricht geschickt, dass er heute Morgen einen Anwaltstermin hätte… aber ich würde von seinem Sohn Cristian Junior im Restaurante Terraza Isidora in Las Condes erwartet! Nachdem ich auch meinen Bordingpass nach Santiago de Chile in der Hand hatte, setzte ich mich auf einen bequemen gepolsterten Sessel und schlief nochmals satte 2 Stunden!

Just after 6 am I woke up and went to the passport control where I got to know Claudio from Buenos Aires. Having an espresso I found out that he is in the Olympic committee having a reunion in Santiago and was on the same flight like me. Also this flight was one hour late but we arrived at Santiago shortly before 10 am where his chauffeur awaited him and give me a ride to Las Condes… the energies are flowing again! ; ) And by the way the temperatures here are around 30 centigrade!

Kurz nach 6 Uhr erwachte ich und lief zur Passkontrolle, wo ich Claudio aus Buenos Aires kennenlernte. Bei einem Espresso fanden wir heraus, dass er im olympischen Komitee ist und eine Versammlung in Santiago sowie denselben Flug wie ich hat. Auch dieser Flug hatte eine Stunde Verspätung aber wir kamen kurz vor 10 Uhr in Santiago an, wo ein Chauffeur auf Claudio wartete und mich auch gleich mitnahm… die Energien fliessen wieder! ; ) Hier ist es übrigens sehr heiss: 30 Grad Celsius!

At 10 pm we took off and luckily I had a whole row to myself, so I was able to sleep another 2 hours! At 1:30 am we arrived at Buenos Aires and I first went to an internet café because I had noticed that I had announced Cristian the wrong date of my arrival: the 21^st instead of the 20^th of December! He had noticed it already and I had a message telling me that he was occupied this morning dealing with his lawyers and that his son Cristian junior would await me at the Restaurante Terraza Isidora in Las Condes! After having organized my boarding pass to Santiago de Chile I accommodated in a comfortable upholstered armchair and slept for another 2 hours!

Die beiden setzten mich im Restaurante Terraza Isidora in Las Condes ab, wo ich ganz herzlich von Cristians Sohn mit einem Pisco Sour empfangen wurde! Nach und nach trafen weitere Mitglieder seiner Familie ein und wir genossen gemeinsam ein herrliches Mittagessen… Danach legte ich mich nochmals für 2 Stunden hin bis Cristian um 18 zurückkam und mich weckte. Nach einer herrlichen Dusche und austauschenden wie planenden Gesprächen setzten wir uns zum Apero ins Restaurant, wo Cristian sich um seine Gäste kümmerte und ich meine Erlebnisse der letzten 2 Tage in einem Post zusammenfassen konnte. Später kam Claudio hinzu...

Wie schön es ist wieder in Santiago de Chile und mit lieben Leuten zusammen zu sein! Hier blühe ich wieder förmlich auf und freue mich auf die vor mir liegende Woche!

The two dropped me off at the Restaurate Terraza Isidora where Cristian’s son welcomed my warmly with a pisco sour! As we went along more and more of his relatives dropped in and we enjoyed a delicious lunch together… Thereafter I took another nap of about 2 hours until 6 pm when Cristian arrived and woke me up. After a nice shower and interchanging as well as planning conversations we went to the restaurant to have an appetizer. Cristian had to take care of his customers and I had time to summarize my experiences of the last 2 days in a post. Later Claudio joined us...

What a treat it is to be back in Santiago de Chile with lovely people! Here I flourish literally and am looking forward to the week laying ahead of me!
