Heute Morgen wurden wir früh von heftigem tropischen Regen geweckt - ein guter Grund sich nochmals zu kehren und weiter zu dösen… Als wir zum Frühstück gingen regnete es zwar immer noch, aber bedeutend weniger. Es sah jedoch nicht danach aus, als ob sich das Wetter in der nächsten Zeit gross verändern würde, so machten wir Pläne für einen Ausruhetag.
Nadine ging am Strand spazieren, Carlos joggte zu seinem Kitesurf Instruktor um einen Termin für morgen zu vereinbaren und ich setzte mich wieder einmal an den Laptop um meinen Blog auf den aktuellsten Stand zu bringen. Leider funktionierte das WiFi nicht, aber ich kann ja alles ins Internet stellen, wenn ich wieder Verbindung ins Netz habe!
This morning a heavy tropical rain woke us up – a good reason to turn around once more and snooze on… When we went for breakfast it was still raining, but significantly less. But it didn’t seem like the weather would change in the next hours, so we made plans for a relaxing day.
Nadine went for a walk on the beach, Carlos jogged to his kite surf instructor to arrange a lesson for tomorrow and I had time to sit in front of my laptop and update my blog. Unfortunately the WiFi didn’t work but I will upload everything the next time I will have connection.

Um 15 Uhr fuhren wir in die Stadt Salinopolis oder Salinas, wie sie auch genannt wird, und genossen im Restaurant Almare ein ausgiebiges spätes Mittagessen mit einer kalten Flasche brasilianischem Prosecco, danach übten wir Samba!
At 3 pm we drove into town, Salinopolis or Salinas how it is also called, and enjoyed a long and late lunch at the restaurant Almare with a bottle of cold Brazilian prosecco, thereafter we tried to dance samba!

Pünktlich zum Sonnenuntergang erreichten wir den Strand und erhielten prompt ein Ständchen von 2 musikalischen Brüdern – ich denke alle hier unter grossem Einfluss von Caipirinhas! ; ) Danach ging es in die Eisdiele Cairu, wo wir wieder einmal die Qual der Wahl hatten, obwohl wir die meisten Eissorten nicht kannten…
On time for sunset we reached the beach and two musician brothers sang for us – I guess all under the influence of lots of caipirinhas! ; ) Thereafter we went to have an ice-cream at Cairu and once more it was difficult to choose from the huge variety, even we did not know most of the kinds…

Als wir durch Salinas fuhren fanden wir eine grosse Menschenmenge vor der Kirche, als wir es nähre betrachten gingen, erfuhren wir dass heute der 110. Geburtstag von Salinopolis gefeiert wurde… natürlich machten wir auch auf dem grossen Platz halt um das Feiern etwas zu beobachten und ab und zu unser Tanzbein zu schwingen!

On the way back driving through town we noticed a big crowd in front of the church, when we got closer we were told that today was the 110th birthday of Salinopolis… of course we made another stop at the main square to watch the celebrations and swing a leg or two!
