Wir erwachten ziemlich früh und waren um 8:30 Uhr schon beim Frühstück. Carlos hatte eine Verletzung am Hals vom Fussballspielen, die ihn belästigte. Er rief seinen Arzt in Sao Paulo an, der ihm die Telefonnummer eines Spezialisten in Belem gab. Nun war dieser noch bis zum Mittag in einer Konferenz und würde danach gleich zu Cadu ins Hotel kommen um ihn zu untersuchen.
We woke up quite early and were at breakfast around 8:30 am. Carlos had an injury in his throat from playing football and it bothered him, so he called his doctor in Sao Paulo who gave him the phone number of a specialist in Belem. The latter was in a conference until noon and would come to survey Cadu in the hotel thereafter.

Unterdessen machten Nadine und ich uns auf zum Parque Zoobotanico, wo es wie im Urwald war und viele Tiere des Amazonas zu sehen waren. Danach nahmen wir den Bus zum Hafen wo wir vom alten Dock Estação Docas, das zu einem modernen Vergnügungscenter umfunktioniert worden war, zum Mercado Ver-o-Peso, einem riesigen Markt mit Unmengen von Produkten aus Amazonien. Übrigens weiss ich jetzt, woher der Name der Paranüsse kommt: Paranüsse stammen aus dieser Provinz, die Para heisst!
In the meantime Nadine and I walked to the Parque Zoobotanico, where we felt like being in midst of the jungle and where we could see lots of animals of the Amazonas. Thereafter we took a bus to the port where we walked from the old dock Estação Docas, which had been rebuilt into a modern leisure centre, to the Mercado Ver-o-Peso, a huge market with loads of products from Amazonia.
Um 13:30 Uhr trafen wir Carlos im Estação Docas um ein Eis aus den vielen für uns unbekannten Früchten zu essen. Wir holten unser Gepäck im Hotel Sagres ab und machten uns auf den Weg nach Salinas mit einem Zwischenhalt im Restaurant O Celeiro, das seine Bioprodukte auch zum Kauf anbietet.
Um 19 Uhr kamen wir im Hotel Privé do Atalaia (www.privedoatalaia.tur.br) an, richteten es uns etwas ein und hatten danach im Hotelrestaurant bei vielen Caipirinhas frischen Fisch, Scampi und allerlei Köstlichkeiten aus der Region…

At 1:30 pm we met Carlos at the Estação Docas to have an ice-cream made of the many for us unknown fruits. We picked up our luggage at the Hotel Sagres and took the road to Salinas with a stop at the restaurant O Celeiro where you can enjoy and buy their bio products.
At 7 pm we arrived at the Hotel Privé do Atalaia (www.privedoatalaia.tur.br), installed ourselves and went for dinner to the hotel restaurant where we enjoyed amongst many caipirinhas fresh fish, prawns and other goodies from the region…
