Vor dem Frühstück gingen wir barfuss im Bikini dem unendlichen Strand entlang joggen und dann zum Restaurant Orixas einen Espresso trinken. Dort traf ich Christian und seine französischen Kumpels, die hier logierten und mit dem Buggy an der Westküste unterwegs waren, er kam mit mir eine Runde im Meer schwimmen!
Before breakfast we went for a run along the never ending beach barefoot in our bikinis and then for an espresso at the Orixas restaurant. There I met Christian and his French fellows, who stayed in the hotel and spent some time on the west coast on buggies, he went to swim with me in the ocean!

Nach einem weiteren herrlichen Frühstück im Pousada do Paiva besuchten wir Alex im Hotel Orixas (www.orixashotel.com.br), den Nadine gestern Abend beim Bezahlen unserer Restaurantrechnung kennengelernt hatte, denn er wollte uns im Hotel herumführen: Ein absolutes Traumhotel – jede Suite hat einen eigenen Pool und Meersicht… leider hatten wir schon unsere Pläne um nach Jericoacoara an einen der schönsten Strände der Welt zu gehen… : ( Dafür konnten wir Christian noch eine gute Reise nach Fortaleza wünschen!
After another delicious breakfast at the Pousada do Paiva we went to visit Alex in the Hotel Orixas (www.orixashotel.com.br) who Nadine got to know last night when paying the restaurant bill, he wanted to show us around the beautiful hotel: It’s an absolute dream – each suite has its own pool and ocean view (Chris & Stacey: like Ocean Reef - you would love this!)… unfortunately we already had our plans to go to Jericoacoara to one of the most beautiful beaches in the world… : ( Therefore we met Christian again to wish him a good journey to Fortaleza!

Auf dem Weg nach Jericoacoara machten wir einen Abstecher nach Mundau, danach fuhr Nadine die 200 km nach Jijoca, wo Endstation für normale Autos ist. Wir parkierten unser Chevröli und Jean fuhr uns mit seinem Jeep nach Jericoacoara, wo wir im Hotel Capitao Thomaz (www.capitaothomaz.com.br) direkt am Strand die ideale Bleibe für 2 Nächte fanden.
Hungrig liefen wir den Sandstrassen mit vielen hübschen Geschäften entlang und gelangten so ins Restaurant Leonardo da Vinci, wo ich meinen ersten südamerikanischen Hummer verspeiste! Wir hatten einen amüsanten Abend mit Vicenzo, dem Oberkellner, und unseren zwei Schweizer Tischnachbarn Marc und Marco!
Mit den Marc(o)s kehrten wir noch in eine hübsche Bar ein, um noch einen letzten Caipirinha auf dem Nachhauseweg zu geniessen und verweilten bei interessanten Gesprächen…

On the way to Jericoacoara we stopped at Mundau, thereafter Nadine drove the 200 km to Jijoca, the end for normal cars. We parked our little Chevrolet and Jean drove us to Jaricoacoara with his off-road jeep where we found our ideal stay for 2 nights in the Hotel Capitao Thomaz (www.capitaothomaz.com.br).
Hungrily we walked on sandy roads along many pretty shops and finally reached the restaurant Leonardo da Vinci, where I had my first South American lobster! We had a very amusing evening with Vicenzo our waiter and the two Swiss guys Marc and Marco!
On the way home we had one for the road, another caipirinah, and interesting conversations with the two Marc(o)s…
