Lima - Cuzco

Um 4:45 Uhr ging der Wecker, um 5:30 Uhr sassen wir beim Frühstück und 5:50 Uhr fuhr Ricardo uns zum Flughafen – zackzack! Eingecheckt hatten wir schon im Internet, so ging es nur noch ums Abgeben der Koffer und danach standen wir in einer langen Schlange um das Handgepäck scannen zu lassen. Wir hatten noch kurz Zeit die Duty Free Shops zu durchstöbern und dann sassen wir schon im Flugzeug der StarPeru, das pünktlich um 8:20 Uhr abhob und um 9:40 Uhr in Cuzco landete. Wir wurden vom Shuttlebus des Hotels Ruinas (http://www.hotelruinas.com) abgeholt und bezogen um 10 Uhr schon unser Zimmer!

At 4.45 am the alarm clock woke us, up at 5.30 am we had breakfast and at 5.50 am Ricardo drove us to the airport – zackzack! We had already checked in via web, so we only had to drop off our baggage and thereafter we queued for a long time to have our hand luggage scanned. We had just enough time to go through the duty free shops and shortly after we already sat in the plane of StarPeru which took off on time at 8:20 am and arrived at Cuzco at 9:40 am. We got picked up by the shuttle bus of the Hotel Ruinas ((http://www.hotelruinas.com) and at 10 am we already moved into our room!

Nadine & Melissa

Wie empfohlen, tranken wir einen Mate de Coca und ruhten wir erst einmal aus um uns langsam zu akklimatisieren, denn wir waren ja in 1 ½ Stunden von 0 auf 3340 m über Meer gestiegen! Am Mittag besuchte uns Nadines Freundin Melissa und ihre Cousine Flavia im Hotel (Nadine hat Melissa und ihre Cousine Bea vor 10 Jahren bei einem Sprachaufenthalt in Cannes kennengelernt).

As suggested, we had a mate of coca and relaxed for a while to acclimatize, since we had travelled from 0 to 3340 m above sea level! At noon Nadine’s friend Melissa and her cousin visited us at the hotel (Nadine got to know Melissa and her cousin Bea 20 years ago in Cannes while studying French).

Restaurant Papillon, Cuzco

Danach machten wir uns auf in die Stadt, kamen aber kaum vom Flecken bei den vielen Geschäften, die ausgekundschaftet werden mussten… Ein Hüngerchen trieb uns schliesslich ins Restaurant Papillon am Plaza de Armas, wo wir etwas zu Mittag assen.

Thereafter we went to conquer the town but didn’t move really as we stepped into each shop… A kind of hunger drifted us finally to the restaurant Papillon at the Plaza de Armas where we had lunch.

Meine Zunge schmerzte sehr, weil sie sich stets an meinem scharfen Zahn wetzte, so machten wir uns auf die Suche nach einem Zahnarzt, den wir schon bald fanden: Dr. Rosell Pinto Pazos, er untersuchte den abgebrochenen Krater und machte Abdrücke für das Porzellanteil, das mir morgen eingesetzt wird… Danach gingen wir uns von den Strapazen erholen bei einer stündigen Ganzkörpermassage für unglaubliche 25 Soles (= Fr. 8)!

My tongue hurt as it rubbed on my sharp tooth, so we went to look for a dentist who we found quickly: Dr. Rosell Pinto Pazos, he surveyed my hollow crater and made prints for a bell glass part that he will insert tomorrow… Thereafter we recuperated from our exertions with a one-hour-whole-body-massage for unbelievable 25 Soles (= USD 10)!



Restaurant Cosa Nostra, Cuzco, with Flavia, Nadine & Melissa



Um 19:30 Uhr holten wir Melissa und Flavia in ihrer La Bodega 138 ab und gingen ins Restaurant Cosa Nostra und assen bei einem richtigen Sizilianer zu Abend (Melanie & Hansruedi: Das Restaurant befindet sich gleich um die Ecke Richtung Plaza de Armas vom Hotel aus!)…

At 7:30 pm we picked up Melissa and Flavia at their La Bodega 138 and went to the restaurant Cosa Nostra where we had dinner at a real Sicilian…
