Heute Morgen wollten wir eigentlich ins Spa, aber ein Stromunterbruch machte uns einen Strich durch die Rechnung… und es regnete in Strömen, so dass wir uns gemächlich zum Frühstück und für die Abreise bereit machten.



This morning we intended to go to the spa, but unfortunately the electricity cut down… and it rained cats and dogs, so we got ready very slowly for breakfast and our departure.

Wir fuhren nochmals durch das Städtchen Baños und dann der Avenida Amazonas durch viele Schluchten entlang gegen den Amazonas. In Fatima wollten wir eine Aufzucht für bedrohte amazonische Tiere besuchen, fanden aber anstatt einen Zoo, der ausser einem lustigen Äffchen nur traurige Tiere zu bieten hatte… : (

We drove through the little town of Baños once again and along the Avenida Amazonas through gorges towards the Amazonas. In Fatima we wanted to visit the bread of endangered animals of the Amazonas instead we found a zoo. Except to a little funny monkey there were only miserable animals we would have loved to see free… : (

Bald änderte sich die vulkanische Landschaft und immer mehr Jungel zeigte sich bis wir um 16 Uhr in Misahualli eintrafen. Wir checkten fast alle Herbergen aus und entschieden uns für das Misahualli Jungle Lodge (http://www.misahuallijungle.com/pages/meet_us.html), das bedeutete mühselig mit allem Gepäck auf einem Kanu über den Rio Napo zu fahren! Aber es lohnte sich! Wir machten zudem einem Besuch bei Teo (http://www.teorumi.com/), einem Biologen, der uns eine 2-tägige Amazonas Tour organisierte. Das heisst: 1 Nacht Misahualli Jungle Lodge, 1 Nacht im Amazonas und danach noch eine Nacht im Misahualli Jungle Lodge…

Bevor wir essen gingen, war ich noch joggen im Jungel und schwimmen im Pool – keine Ahnung ob dies gefährlich war (im Jungel!)… und das Wichtigste: endlich wieder normale Temperaturen!

The landscape changed from minute to minute from volcanoes to jungle and at 4 pm we arrived at Misahualli. We checked out almost all hostels and decided to stay at the Misahualli Jungle Lodge (http://www.misahuallijungle.com/pages/meet_us.html) what meant to cross the Napo River by canoe with all our luggage – but it was worth while! In addition we booked a 2-days trip into the Amazonas with Teo (http://www.teorumi.com/), a biologist. This means: 1 night Misahualli Jungle Londge, 1 night in the Amazonas and 1 night Misahualli Jungle Londge…

Before we went for dinner I went for a run in the jungle and a swim in the pool – no idea if this was dangerous (the jungle!)… and the most important thing: finally we have normal temperatures again!
