Ich wachte früh auf und ging um erst einmal Joggen und in einem Café einen doppelten Espresso trinken. Danach ging es in den 3. Stock des Hotel Alaska zum Frühstück. Ich packte meine Koffer, bestellte ein Taxi und fuhr 2 Blocks weiter ins Hotel Viru Viru (www.hotelviruviru.com), das ich am Abend zuvor schon ausgescheckt hatte… ich stieg in den kühlen Pool und schwamm einige Runden. Jacqueline und Hans, ausgewanderte Holländer, gesellten sich hinzu und erzählen mir von ihren Plänen…
I woke up early and first went for a run and had a double expresso in a coffee. Thereafter I had breakfast in the 3rd floor of the Hotel Alaska. I packed my bags, ordered a taxi and drove 2 blocks further to the Hotel Viru Viru (www.hotelviruviru.com) which I had already checked out the night before… I entered the cool pool and swam some rounds Jacqueline and Hans, Dutch emigrants, joined me and told me about their plans…

Um 17:30 Uhr, als die Hitze etwas abkühlte, machte ich mich auf den Weg durch die Stadt zur Zug- und Busstation um mich über eine Reise nach San José de Chiquitos zu informieren. Nach einer halben Stunde wusste ich, dass der Zug morgen um 11:45 Uhr Santa Cruz verlässt und nach 7 Stunden in San José de Chiquitos erreicht. Da die Züge zurück nach Santa Cruz nur nachts fahren, würde ich am nächsten Tag einen Bus um 16 Uhr in San José de Chiquitos besteigen und 5 Stunden später in Santa Cruz ankommen. Hotels hat es einige in San José de Chiquitos, so meine Internetrecherchen…
At 5:30 pm when the heat had a bit cooled off I walked though town to the train and bus station to inform myself about a trip to San José de Chiquitos. After half an hour of investigation I knew that the train would leave Santa Cruz at 11:45 am tomorrow morning and arrive at San José de Chiquitos 7 hours later. As the trains leave from San José de Chiquitos only at night I would take a bus the next day at 4 pm and arrive at Santa Cruz 5 hours later. My internet investigations showed that there are plenty of hotels in San José de Chiquitos…

Draussen war es jetzt schon dunkel und ich bestieg den ersten Microbus, der tatsächlich ins Zentrum fuhr und direkt vor dem Restaurant El Aljibe (http://www.aljibecomidatipica.com/) hielt, das ich für heute Abend ausgelwählt hatte. Es wurde ein super vergnüglicher Abend: Rodolfo führte mich durch das ganze Lokal und erzählte mir die Geschichte dazu, ich hatte eine herrliche Spezialität zum Essen (Schmorbraten und Yucca) und ein Dessert, das sich Quiromas (=ich will mehr) nennt – danach wollte ich nur noch ein Nopuedomas (=ich kann nicht mehr)! ; ) Zudem hatte ich lustige Tischnachbarn aus La Paz, dem Distrikt Beni und Sucre…

When I left the building it was already dark and I entered the first microbus which in fact headed direction centre and stopped directly in front of the restaurant El Aljibe (www.aljibecomidatipica.com), which I had chosen for tonight! I spent a very charming evening there: Rodolfo showed me the restaurant and told me the story about it, I had a wonderful typical dish (roast and yucca) and a desert named Quiromas (=I want more) – thereafter all I wanted is a Nopuedomas (=I can’t anymore)! ; ) I also had funny neighbours next table from La Paz, Beni district and Sucre… (Marilin: Thank you for the tip!)
