Unser Plan war um 8:30 Uhr nach Villa Tunari aufzubrechen, aber wie Marilin am Vorabend angekündigt hatte würd es wohl später werden, da die Studenten Mühe haben werden aufzustehen nach einer langen Disconacht… sie rief mich um 9 Uhr an und ein halbe Stunde später fuhren wir im komfortablen Bus los, wo jeder Passagier 2 verstellbare Sitzplätze hatte!
Our plan was to hit the road to Villa Tunari at 8:30 am, but as Marilin had announced last night the students would have difficulties to get up after a night in the disco… She called me at 9 am and half an hour later we sat in the very comfortable bus where each passenger had 2 adjustable chairs!

Um 11 Uhr machten wir unsere erste Pause am Represa de Corani, einem Stausee. Um 12:30 passierten wir in Locotal eine Drogenkontollstelle und machten einen kurzen Halt um die hungrigen Mäuler zu stopfen. Drogenkontrollen gibt es viele, aber Strassenverkehrskontrollen habe ich bisher keine angetroffen! Hier war schon ein deutlicher Temperaturunterschied zu merken, es war schon richtig heiss!
At 11 am we had our first break at the artificial lake of Represa de Corani. At 12:30 pm we passed Locotal, a control station for drugs and all the hungry students bought local food at the stalls along the street. There are plenty drug controls here in Bolivia, but I haven’t yet encountered a speed or traffic control! Here in Locotal we could feel a significant change in temperatures, it was already very hot!

Um 14:30 trafen wir in Villa Tunari ein, es war sehr heiss (35 Grad Celsius) und wir nahmen zuerst im Restaurant Jazmin frischen Fisch zum Mittagessen ein und bezogen dann unsere Zimmer im Hotel San Marin (http://www.sanmartinchapare.com/). Danach ging es gleich weiter mit dem Bus zum Parque Machia, wo verletzte einheimische Tiere gepflegt werden – leider trafen wir ausser Affen keine andern Tiere…
Als wir zurück im Hotel waren, stürzten sich die Studenten in den Pool und Marilin und ich erkundigten das Dorf: andere Hotels (unseres war das Beste!), Restaurants, Diskotheken, Bus nach Santa Cruz für morgen etc.. Ich setzte mich noch kurz ins Restaurant zu Edith, der Hotelbesitzerin, die mir ein Glas Rotwein anbot, aber um 20 Uhr konnte ich meine Augen nicht mehr offen halten, so dass ich sehr früh zu Bett ging und herrlich und lange schlief!

At 2:30 pm we arrived at Villa Tunari, it was real hot now (35 centigrade) and we first had fresh fish for lunch at the Restaurant Jazmin and thereafter checked in our rooms of the Hotel San Martin (http://www.sanmartinchapare.com/). Only minutes later the bus drove us to the Parque Machia, a wildlife refuge – unfortunately we didn’t see any other animals than monkeys… When we came back to the hotel, all the students rushed to the pool and Marilin and I went to investigate the village: other hotels (ours was the best!), restaurants, discotheques, the bus to Santa Cruz for tomorrow etc.. I joined Edith, the hotel owner, for a short while who offered me a glass of red wine but around 8 pm I wasn’t able to keep my eyes open any longer, so I went to bed early and had a wonderful long sleep!
