17.09.2011 Bolivia: Sucre – Rurrenabaque

Der Tag meiner Abreise war gekommen. Ich stand um 7 Uhr auf, machte mich bereit und packte meine letzten Sachen in die Koffer. Um 8 Uhr hatte ich das erste Frühstück bei Nancy, eine halbe Stunde später bei Jassel… wie immer war ich etwas nervös vor dem Fliegen und ging lieber früher als zu spät zum Flughafen. Um 8:45 Uhr hielt ich ein Taxi vor der Haustür an, das mich in 15 Minuten zum Flughafen fuhr. Perfekt, genau eine Stunde vor Abflug checkte ich ein und erfuhr, dass der Flug eine Stunde Verspätung hatte! Auch das ist nicht weiter schlimm für mich, denn ich habe immer etwas zu tun, so schrieb ich etwas für meinen Blog, wurde dann aber doch etwas nervös, weil ich meinen Anschlussflug nach Rurrenabaque erreichen wollte…

My last day here in Sucre had arrived. I got up at 7 am, got myself ready and packed my last things into my suitcases. At 8 am I had my first breakfast at Nancy’s and half an hour later at Jassel’s… as always I was a bit nervous before flying and went to the airport rather sooner than later. At a quarter to nine I stopped a taxi in front of the house and arrived at the airport at 9 am. Perfect, exactly an hour before departure I checked in and was informed that my flight was delayed an hour… no problem for me as I finally had time to write for my blog! But an uneasy feeling was capturing me because I didn’t want to miss my connection flight to Rurrenabaque…

Genau eine Stunde später flogen wir in Sucre ab und landeten um 12 Uhr in La Paz bei 11 Grad. Meine Koffer kamen schon bald, ich deponierte einen für eine Woche und checkte sogleich bei Amaszonas ein und konnte auch dort gleich an Bord des kleinen Flugzeuges gehen, das für 19 Passagiere nur Fenstersitze besass! Wir landeten pünktlich um 14:45 Uhr in Rurrenabaque bei 33 Grad auf einem kleinen Flugplatz, der erst vor Kurzem eine asphaltierte Teilpiste erhielt – es lebe Beromünster-Neudorf! ; )

Alle Passagiere wurden mit dem Bus der Fluggesellschaft ins Städtchen gebracht, wo mich der Hotelbus des Hotel Isla de los Tucanes (www.islatucanes.com) abholte und in mein neues Zuhause brachte – ja, hier fühle ich mich wirklich zuhause! Meine Koffer wurden in mein Bungalow gebracht, ich setze mich ins Restaurant und bestellte mir einen gegrillten Saburi (Fisch) mit Gemüse und eine Flasche Weisswein... so verbrachte ich den ganzen Nachmittag mit dem Aufarbeiten von meinem Blog und Beantworten meiner e-mails…

Exactly an hour later we took off in Sucre and landed in La Paz at noon with 11 degrees centigrade. My suitcases arrived soon after, one of them I deposited at the storage, checked in with Amaszonas and boarded the small aircraft with window seats only for 19 passengers! We lands in Rurrenabaque at 2:45 as scheduled with 33 degrees centigrade in a small airport which only recently received a partial asphalted runway.

All passengers were brought to the little town by shuttle bus, where the hotel bus picked me up and drove me to my new home in the Isla de los Tucanes (www.islatucanes.com) – and I really feel home here! My suitcases where put in my bungalow and I sat down in the restaurant, ordered grilled Surubi (fish) with vegetables and a bottle of white wine… that’s how I spent the rest of the afternoon writing for my blog and answering my e-mails…

Als ich fast umfiel vor Müdigkeit, weckte mich ein interessantes Gespräch mit Juan Antonio, dem Hotelbesitzer, und wir diskutierten die Kriminalität und Zukunft des Landes bei einer Flasche Whisky bis ich erfuhr, dass er um Mitternacht seinen 50. Geburtstag feierte… WOW, diese Nacht schlief ich wie ein Engel!!!

When I almost fell asleep an interesting conversation with Juan Antonio, the owner of the hotel, woke me up and we talked about criminality and the future of Bolivia with a bottle of Whisky until I realized that at midnight started his 50^th anniversary… WOW, that night I slept like an angle!!!
